Requirements and guidelines for speaking engagements. Please review before submitting inquiries.
Code of Conduct
Events must have an explicitly-defined, enforced Code of Conduct linked publicly on the event website. If you need a starting point, BSides Las Vegas maintains a solid example.
Travel & Accommodations
Galactic may cover expenses for events that align with its mission. Otherwise, travel and accommodations are coordinated on a per-event basis.
For significant time zone changes, Cody prefers to arrive 1-2 days before his speaking slot.
Speaking Fees
- Community/Non-Profit: Generally no fee. Happy to support.
- Corporate/For-Profit: Negotiable based on event scale and keynote status.
- Alternative: Charitable donation to a speaker-chosen org (confirm before booking travel).
Technical Requirements
Two acceptable configurations. Please confirm setup at least 7 days before the event.
Session Types
Including Q&A. Flexible based on event schedule.
Open to presentation, panel, or workshop formats.
Recordings & Intellectual Property
Cody retains ownership of all presentation content and may deliver talks elsewhere.
Recording is permitted with advance notice, subject to the following:
- Recordings must be captioned
- Content cannot be paywalled without express written permission
- Please share the final video for the speaker's promotional use
Written consent is required before using Cody's likeness, slides, images, or voice for purposes beyond event promotion.
Social Promotion
Cody is happy to promote events on his channels before and after. Tag him and he'll engage.

Cancellation
The speaker reserves the right to withdraw from an event for safety reasons. In such cases, Cody will offer to present remotely as an alternative when possible.
